Description:The Designer is responsible for the design of machinery updates and field retrofits utilizing Inventor and AutoCAD and other supporting software in support of the Product Support Group. The Designer will develop after-market parts and systems for use on customer owned machinery. This position is responsible for Field upgrades and after-market machine support with priorities established by Director of Product Support, Service Manager and Part Sales Marketing.
Duties:•Represents Peterson in a positive and professional manner at all times.
•Makes revisions and corrections to existing drawings when requested and as needed
•Works directly with Supervisors and Management to interpret project direction for the development or revision of the product.
•Technical writing and manual organizational skills required
•Participates in continuous improvement efforts
•Communicates with other departments as required for project work
•Has good communication skills including correct grammar. Has strong organizational skills and is able to work periodically with minimal supervision.
•Follows all organizational and area/departmental procedures, safety policies and directives as outlined
•Overtime as directed by your Supervisor to include nights and weekends may be required.
•Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
Qualifications:•Associate's degree in Mechanical Design Technology or a related Engineering discipline.
•2+ years of experience as a Designer in a heavy equipment manufacturing environment.
